I create abstract paintings and drawings that consist of dynamic compositions using geometric shapes, zigzag and curvy lines, and where I contrast subtle colors with more intense brighter colors. My abstract artwork often displays real life objects interspersed with the other shapes. Many of my images are influenced by Native American art (especially Navajo) and Mexican folk art. Other influences are Art Deco, certain artists, and my Mexican American heritage. My aim is to inspire joy, humor, and awe at the unexpected. Descriptors for my work include fanciful, whimsical, musically inspired.
