Site Design by Sylvie McClelland.

These paintings vary from the whimsical to the totally abstract. The three paintings of

houses/buildings were inspired by the 1910 classic horror film, “The Somnambulist.”

The painting that features Krazy Kat and Ignatz Mouse was inspired by the cartoon strip Krazy Kat by George Herriman. Another influence from the world of cartoons is Max

Fleischer, the inventor of the animated cartoon when he created Betty Boop and her

friends. Particularly important to me is the cartoon “Minnie the Moocher” for its

fantastic imagery and imagination, to say nothing of the image and music of Cab

Calloway, shown at the beginning of the film.
